Growing Tips
Sow seeds lightly covered or at soil surface, pressing gently into contact; soil temperatures above 20°C induce dormancy, so avoid sowing in warm weather. Direct sowing in early spring or late summer (July-October) is preferred for fall/winter production. Keep soil consistently moist during germination. Thin seedlings to 3-6 inches apart; space rows 20-25 cm apart. This variety excels in cool seasons and can tolerate temperatures down to -15°C with proper protection. Provide full sun to partial shade; partial shade in summer helps prevent bolting. Harvest outer leaves continuously or cut entire rosettes when 2-3 inches tall. Practice succession planting every 2-3 weeks for year-round supply. Germination may be slow and variable; patience is essential. Soaking seeds for 24 hours before sowing can improve germination rates.
