Bulbine frutescens –

Description

A succulent perennial related to Aloe that forms a tuft of fleshy, green leaves and upright, unbranched flower stalks with yellow or orange, star-shaped flowers. Bulbine frutescens is native to South Africa and makes a nice drought and cold tolerant and care-free ornamental. Its sap helps against burns like that of some Aloe. It also has a host of other medicinal uses.
