Description
Melaleuca squamea is a compact to medium-sized evergreen shrub native to southeastern Australia. It typically grows 1 to 3 meters tall, forming a dense, rounded habit with narrow, aromatic leaves. In spring and early summer, it produces showy clusters of mauve to purple bottlebrush-like flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. This hardy species tolerates poor, sandy, or waterlogged soils and thrives in full sun. Ideal for use in hedges, windbreaks, or native gardens, it is both drought- and frost-tolerant once established.
