Description
Acacia mellifera is a hardy, multi-stemmed shrub or small tree native to arid and semi-arid regions of Africa. It typically grows 2 to 6 meters tall and is characterized by its dark, thorny branches and small, fragrant cream-colored flowers that attract bees. Highly drought-tolerant, it thrives in full sun and poor, dry soils, making it well suited for xeriscaping and soil stabilization. The plant forms dense thickets valuable for fencing, windbreaks, and wildlife habitat. Traditionally, it is also used for fuelwood and honey production.
