Description

Delonix elata is a highly ornamental deciduous tree native to the arid regions of East Africa and the Middle East, prized for its beautiful floral displays and spreading, umbrella shaped canopy. Reaching heights of 5 to 15 meters, it develops a smooth, ashy grey trunk and a broad crown filled with delicate, feathery bipinnate leaves. The lush, finely textured foliage provides fantastic dappled shade during the summer months before gracefully dropping in the dry season. Its moderate size and elegant architectural form make it a highly desirable specimen for medium to large gardens, avenue planting, and dry landscape designs.

The tree produces a truly spectacular floral show, featuring large, showy blooms with beautifully crinkled petals.
