Description

Danish flag poppy is one of the most beautiful cultivars in the family papaveraceae; highly recommended for landscaping, promoting a harmonious contrast in shape and color.

The poppies are appreciated in photos, films, and refer to the classic gardens and the romance, the past and the beautiful landscapes that provide the roads to us all over the world.

After flowering, their seed pods are another spectacle to be enjoyed, which are generally widely used for floral and decorative arrangements.

The species is demanding in well drained soil, planting in full sun in temperate and partially shaded for very hot climates is most appropriate. It resounds year after year.

Poppies prefer a cooler environment for the germinative phase and warmer for their growth phase and maturity.

This variety has intensely red petals with fringed edges and in the middle a white colored cross has been delicately laid bare by mother nature, which gives it its common name Danish flag.

A real blast to our gardens, grouped together or in secluded planting.

Planting done every 3 – 4 weeks apart will ensure an eternally flowery and colorful garden.

Growing Tips
Sow seeds on soil surface and press gently to ensure good seed-to-soil contact; do not cover with soil as light is essential for germination. Keep substrate consistently moist but not waterlogged; mist gently to avoid displacing seeds. Maintain temperatures between 15-24°C for optimal germination. Use well-draining, neutral pH soil. Avoid direct sunlight initially; provide indirect light or grow lights. Germination typically occurs within 7-28 days depending on temperature. Do not transplant unless necessary as poppies resent root disturbance.
