Description

Acrocarpus fraxinifolius is a large, fast-growing deciduous tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It can reach heights of 30 to 40 meters, forming a tall, straight trunk with a broad, spreading crown. The bark is greyish-brown and smooth when young, becoming slightly rough with age.

The tree produces pinnate leaves with numerous leaflets resembling those of the ash tree (Fraxinus), which inspired its species name. During the dry season, it sheds its leaves and blooms with clusters of small pink to reddish flowers, creating a striking display.

Acrocarpus fraxinifolius thrives in tropical and subtropical climates, preferring deep, well-drained soils and full sun. It is often used for reforestation, shade, and timber production due to its rapid growth and high-quality wood, as well as its ability to enrich soil through nitrogen fixation.
