Description
Like all morning glories, the plant is enveloped around the structure with its twigs. Generally grows to a height between 2.50 and 3.50 meters. The leaves are in the form of heart and the flowers in the form of trumpets, predomining for this variety in blue and purple tones.
That name (morning glory), which designates many of the 500-700 species of ipomoea, must be the behavior of their flowers opened during night or light of day.
Ipomoea purpurea is widely used as an ornamental species in the world everything. Quickly copper structures like slings, fences, arches and generalally is used to discharge undesired spaces in the garden.

Growing Tips

Keep the substrate consistently moist but not waterlogged during germination. Provide bright light and warmth; a propagator or clear plastic cover helps retain heat and humidity. Once seedlings emerge, remove the cover and place in a warm, well-lit location away from drafts. Transplant to larger containers or directly into the garden after the last frost date when soil has warmed to at least 65°F (18°C). Choose a location with full sun exposure for optimal flowering and growth. The plant prefers well-drained soil enriched with organic matter but tolerates most soil conditions. Water regularly to keep soil moist but not saturated. Establish a support structure (trellis, fence, or pergola) as vines will grow rapidly, reaching 6-10 feet in a single season.
