Description
Annona muricata is a small evergreen tropical tree reaching 5 to 10 meters tall, known for its distinctive large, spiny green fruits. The leaves are glossy, dark green, and oblong, giving off a strong aroma when crushed.
The tree produces fragrant, yellow-green flowers that can appear singly or in clusters along the branches. Its fruit is oval to heart-shaped, with a soft, white, fibrous pulp that has a sweet-tart flavor reminiscent of a blend of strawberry and pineapple.
Soursop thrives in warm, humid climates with well-drained soil and full sun exposure. It is native to tropical regions of the Americas but is now cultivated widely in tropical and subtropical areas around the world.
