Description

This beautiful, large, ornamental banana from southwestern India has a short, bottle-shaped pseudostem and enormous leaves. It is one of the more heat tolerant Ensete and suitable for cultivation in both tropical and subtropical areas. Plants identified as Ensete superbum from Thailand are most likely Ensete lecongkietii, those from northeastern India most likely Ensete glaucum. True Ensete superbum are not native outside of India.
