Native to China and widely cultivated across East Asia, it forms tall, straight, thick-walled culms with distinctive nodes and a light green to yellowish hue. The plant thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Highly valued for its strong and versatile timber used in construction, furniture, flooring, and crafts, it is also cultivated for its edible spring shoots. Moso Bamboo is ideal for large landscapes, windbreaks, and reforestation projects, but requires space due to its running growth habit.
