Growing Tips
Seeds require light to germinate, so sow on soil surface and press gently without covering completely. Maintain consistently moist (not soggy) soil at 60-70°F for best results. Soak seeds in warm water for 12 hours before sowing to improve germination rates. Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date for earlier blooms. These biennials typically flower in their second year, but may flower the first year if started early indoors. Protect young seedlings from slugs and snails. Provide well-drained, fertile soil with full sun exposure for transplanting outdoors.
