Seed Pre-treatment
-
💧
Soaking — 12 hours
12-24 hours soaking in warm water after hot water scarification. Seeds should swell with moisture absorption.
-
🔨
Hot water scarification
Hot water treatment for 30 seconds or nearly boiling water followed by 12-24 hours soaking in warm water. Mechanical scarification also effective.

Additional notes
Hard seed coat requires scarification. Physical dormancy (PY) is primary dormancy type. Scarification and hot water treatment significantly increase germination.
Substrate & Container
Recommended substrate
Well-draining loamy soil, light to medium fertile soil
Recommended container
Individual cell pots recommended for seed germination
Growing Tips
Keep substrate moist but not waterlogged. Provide full sun exposure. Plant prefers warm conditions (16-27°C mean annual temperature). Once dormancy is broken through scarification, seeds germinate readily across wide temperature range.
