Description
Passiflora macrophylla, also known as (passiflora grandifolia), has giant leaves and erete growth, tree. The species are native of the tropical regions of planicie ummida of ecuador.
A small tree that generally in domestic cultivation does not exceed 2 meters of height, while in its origin habitat can reach up to 5 – 6 meters of height, the leaves can reach 1 meter of length by 30 cm of width.
Flowers born like inflorescence disposed of ema rods from the trunk, white petals and yellow crown, followed by rounded fruits, average with 5 cm of diameter.
Granadila del monte is one of the relatively few species of passiflora with a pattern of arborative growth.
The species are very rare in cultivation and extremely valued as an ornamental plant, beautiful beautiful and very exotic. The flowers are great, looking and attract kisses-flowers.
The plant is easy to cultivate and adapts very well in growing in vessels, in the failure of rain regular rules must be performed and in cold regions or which occurred, necessary protection or must be transferred to indoors.
The offer of seeds for that example is sazonal and limited.
Germination Guide
🌍 Western Colombia to western Ecuador, lowland rainforests
Moderate
Passiflora macrophylla, known as Tree Passion Fruit, is a rare tropical species native to the humid lowland rainforests of western Ecuador and Colombia. This species has pronounced seed dormancy and requires warm, moist conditions to germinate successfully. Seeds typically germinate between 2-8 weeks when provided with proper warm temperature, moisture, and darkness.

Seed Pre-treatment
-
💧
Soaking — 24 hours
Soak seeds for 24 hours in warm water or orange juice before sowing

Additional notes
Seeds have hard seed coat and require pretreatment. Combine scarification with warm water soaking for best results
Substrate & Container
Recommended substrate
Seed starting mix, sowing mix, or well-draining seed compost
Recommended container
Individual containers or pots with drainage holes; use humidity dome or plastic covering
Growing Tips
Keep soil continuously moistened but not waterlogged and cover with plastic or glass to maintain heat and humidity. Place container in a warm location with temperatures between 25-30°C (77-86°F). Light inhibits germination, so provide darkness during germination. Provide bottom heat to accelerate germination. Keep seedlings warm; tropical origin requires minimum 15°C. Avoid crowding seedlings as they are sensitive to proximity. Transplant to individual containers when large enough to handle. Do not let soil dry out during germination as this stops the process.
