Description
The species may grow at altitudes up to 2,000 meters. Very cold resistant species.
Recently discovered in the east himalaia region in india.
Musa sp. Seems to be a hybrid between musa sikkimensis and musa chini – champa; a cultivate with very tasty and sweet fruits. While chini – champa musa seems to provide quality and color to fruits, that is, red coloring on the ribs of their leaf and the lower lower lower; the other kind provides sweet and flavor in its fruits.
Probably is musa sikkimensis responsible for cold and frost tolerance.
The fruits have seeds, of course, but your fruit is extremely nice on the taste, very sweet and tasty; besides being able to be successfully cultivated in the colder regions of brazil.
Bananas seeds are not easily to generate, but it is very gratificant to see them successful.
We send to the seeds a manual (tested by us) and very successful in the germination of this kind.
An extremely rare variety in cultivation and an example that could not miss in our collection

Moderate
Musa 'Helens Hybrid' is a recently discovered hybrid from the eastern Himalayas, purported to be a cross between Musa sikkimensis and Musa 'Chini-Champa'. This cold-hardy cultivar produces sweet, edible fruits with seeds and exhibits vigorous growth even at cool temperatures. Germination requires patience and proper temperature management, typically taking 5 weeks to 3 months.

🌡️ Temperature alternation recommended
— Daily temperature cycle of 9 hours at 30-35°C, 15 hours at 12-15°C produces optimal results. Alternatively, 19 hours cool (15°C) with 5 hours warm (25-30°C) can be effective.

Additional notes
Seeds require water soaking before sowing; optional use of sterile seed compost and vermiculite covering recommended.
Substrate & Container
Recommended substrate
Sterile seed compost mixed with perlite or vermiculite for excellent drainage; peat-free seed compost acceptable.
Recommended container
Seed tray or modular tray sealed in polythene bag to maintain moisture; transfer to 3-inch pots upon germination.
Growing Tips
Use fresh seed whenever possible as viability declines with storage time. Maintain alternating day/night temperatures using a heated propagator, turning it on during the day and off at night. Keep substrate moist but never waterlogged to prevent seed rot—use a well-draining seed compost and seal trays in polythene bags. Germination is slow and erratic; do not discard pots prematurely as seeds may germinate weeks or months after sowing. Once seedlings emerge, transfer carefully to individual pots with good quality, free-draining compost. Maintain warmth at 25-30°C during the growing phase. Avoid temperatures below 12°C as this can return seeds to dormancy.
