Easy
Agave striata subsp. striata is a hardy, drought-tolerant succulent native to northeastern Mexico, forming dense rosettes of narrow, wiry blue-green leaves. Seeds germinate readily in 1-4 weeks at warm temperatures on well-draining substrate with light moisture, making it an excellent choice for beginners interested in agave propagation.

Growing Tips
Sow seeds on the surface of well-draining substrate; seeds are neutrally photoblastic (light-tolerant). Maintain substrate moisture without waterlogging—crucial for success. Bottom heat (21-27°C soil temperature) encourages faster germination. Provide bright indirect light; avoid direct sun initially to prevent seedling stress. Remove seedlings from high-humidity conditions after sprouting. Establish plants very slowly and avoid excessive fertilizer. Transplant carefully after 6 months when seedlings have developed sufficient substance.
