Description
Solanum lycopersicum ‘Mexico Midget’ is a compact heirloom cherry tomato variety prized for its exceptional sweetness, early maturity, and high productivity. The plants are indeterminate but naturally small and bushy, typically growing 60 to 100 cm tall, making them well suited for containers, hanging baskets, and small garden spaces. The fruits are very small, round, and bright red, produced in abundance, and have an intense, sugary flavor ideal for fresh snacking and salads.
This variety thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil with regular watering. Its compact habit, strong performance, and adaptability make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced gardeners.
Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Transplant outdoors once all danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures remain above 18°C. In warm or frost-free climates, seeds can be sown from late winter to early spring for continuous production.
