Description
Amorphophallus krausei is a rare and unusual tuberous perennial valued for its dramatic foliage and exotic inflorescence. Emerging from an underground tuber, it produces a single, umbrella-like leaf atop a mottled stem, often reaching 60 to 120 centimeters in height. When mature, it forms a striking inflorescence consisting of a spathe and spadix, typically in deep shades of maroon, purple, or brown. Native to tropical regions of New Guinea and nearby islands, it thrives in warm, humid, shaded environments with rich, well-drained soil. Ideal for collectors of exotic aroids, this species adds a bold, tropical presence to shaded gardens or indoor plant collections.
