Description

Solanum lycopersicum ‘Kellogg’s Breakfast’ is a highly regarded heirloom beefsteak tomato variety known for its very large, bright orange fruits and outstanding sweet flavor. The indeterminate plants are vigorous and productive, typically reaching 1.8 to 2.4 meters in height, and require strong staking or caging to support the heavy fruit load. Fruits are smooth, slightly flattened, and can weigh 450 – 900 g, with thick, meaty flesh, few seeds, and a rich, fruity taste with low acidity. This variety is especially prized for fresh slicing, sandwiches, and colorful culinary presentations.

This cultivar thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture and good airflow. It is valued for its impressive fruit size, productivity, and excellent eating quality throughout the growing season.

Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Transplant outdoors only after all danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures are consistently above 16°C to 18°C. In mild or frost-free climates, seeds can be started from late winter to early spring for best results.
