Description
Xanthostemon chrysanthus ‘Olympic Gold’ is a striking evergreen tree cultivar celebrated for its spectacular, spherical clusters of vivid golden-yellow flowers. Blooming mainly from late spring to summer, the dense flower heads are composed of long, showy stamens that create a dramatic visual display and attract bees, butterflies, and birds. The glossy, leathery dark green leaves provide an excellent contrast to the bright blooms.
Typically reaching 6 to 10 meters in height, this cultivar maintains a well-shaped, rounded to slightly upright canopy, making it suitable for use as a feature tree, street planting, or in large gardens. Native to northeastern Australia, it thrives in warm, frost-free climates with full sun and well-drained soil. Xanthostemon chrysanthus ‘Olympic Gold’ is tolerant of heat and humidity and performs well in tropical and subtropical landscapes, offering reliable flowering, ornamental foliage, and strong visual impact.
