Description

A majestic tree, up to 50 m tall, originally distributed from New Guinea to eastern and southeastern Australia but cultivated elsewhere for its high quality wood, which is often used in construction, and for the leaves, which represent a source of aromatic oils. It develops a straight trunk covered in smooth, peeling bark which is whitish mottled with gray, green or bluish tones. It has narrow, dull green leaves and clusters of white flowers. In its natural habitat, Eucalyptus tereticornis is an important source of food for koalas. An excellent ornamental and shade tree for tropical and warm temperate climates.
